The basic idea of the motor with integrated electronics is to minimize installation costs and make a component much more protected from electrical disturbances that can be problematic when using long cables between the controller and motor. The advantages of this solution are decentralized intelligence, simple installation, no cables between the motor and driver, electromagnetic disturbances remaining inside the motor, single or dual power supply, and compactness. Motor-integrated drive solutions have various flange sizes from 12 to 134 mm with power ratings up to 4.5kW. These decentralized systems are particularly robust; some series are available with IP65 protection.
